This displays information about MyHorseDates and also provides an area for you to Login using your
Username and Password that you have previously set up in the Registration process.
Username - enter your username (up to 15 characters, minimum 6 characters); the system
will check, once you press Login, that the username is valid in conjunction with your password.
Password - enter your password (up to 15 characters, minimum 6 characters); the system
will check, once you press Login, that the password is not already in use.
If you have not yet joined MyHorseDates then there there is an option for you to Register your
details, as soon as you have done this on-line then you can immediately use all the MyHorseDates options
to connect with people you know in the Equestrian Community and make new friends with others who share
your passion.
If you have Forgotten your username/password then there is an option for you to request these
details.
This displays the Registration Form that you need to complete to become part of MyHorseDates.
The information that you need to supply is minimal to get you started:
Username - select your own username (up to 15 characters, minimum 6 characters); the system
will check once you submit these details that the username is not already in use.
Password - select your own password (up to 15 characters, minimum 6 characters); the system
will check once you submit these details that the password is not already in use.
Name - this is your full name that you want to appear throughout MyHorseDates, you dont need
to worry about nicknames or 'tags' as you can set up both a separate nickname and profile message which are
also visible to everyone in MyHorseDates.
Email Address - this is an email address where anything to do with MyHorseDates is sent,
this should be an email address that you regularly check as it will receive important information
from both your Friends and MyHorseDates.
Date of Birth - this is your date of birth in the format DDMMYY (i.e. day 01 to 31, month 01 to 12
and year 00 to 99); this is used for validation and applicability of various aspects of MyHorseDates.
Male or Female - select your gender; this may be used for applicability of various aspects of
MyHorseDates.
Security Question - this is to protect MyHorseDates from 'robots' that crawl the web trying to
set up accounts and is only used when you first register (it is not something you need to remember)
Once this information is complete, it is immediately validated and you can start using MyHorseDates
straight away. You will also be sent an email to confirm the contents and verify your email address.
This area will display your selected Profile picture (along with the date it was last updated) and
you can use the link to Change MyProfile Picture; alongside this your main profile information
is displayed as follows:
- Current Profile Message (and date/time it was last updated)
- Name (and date you joined MyHorseDates)
- Nickname
- Number of Horses/Ponies currently set up against your profile
- Number of Friends you currently have against your profile
- Number of Friends you currently have Pending for you to progress
- Number of Contacts currently set up against your profile
The lower area of this page then displays:
Any MyTackroom Reminders you may have set and/or that have a current Action Date set against it.
You may then Delete this reminder or Modify it (both the text and/or the Action Date).
Any MyFriends Invites you may have set where someone on MyHorseDates has invited you to be their
friend. You can Accept or Reject this invite; you can also View this potential friend's profile before
accepting or rejecting this Invite. You may also Block this user from being your friend and this will
prevent any further invites from this user.
Any MyFriends Messages you may have received from your friend(s). You can Delete, Save or Reply to
this meesage; you can also View your friend's profile at this point. You may also Report Abuse from this
user at this point and the message details will be embedded within the Feedback Form that is created
for you.
Any pending Shared Contacts you may have received from your friend(s). You can Accept or Reject
a contact; you can also View a potential Contact's details before accepting or rejecting this
contact. You can also View your friend's profile at this point.
There are a number of sub options within the MyProfile area as follows:
This area allows you to update your Profile Message that is seen by all other Users.
This area allows you to update your individual profile details that are held on file:
Email Address - this is an email address where anything to do with MyHorseDates is sent,
this should be an email address that you regularly check as it will receive important information
from both your Friends and MyHorseDates.

Friend.
Address - this is your full address (excluding Postcode -see below); it is not publicly displayed
Post Code - UK only; this may be used for applicability of various aspects of MyHorseDates.
UK or non UK - this will be extended as other countries join; you may also use the link to
'Suggest a Country'.
County - UK only; this is selected from the drop down list presented.
Favourite Discipline - this is selected from the drop down list presented and is used for searching
for Friends; you may also use the link to 'Suggest a Discipline'.
This area allows you to upload a photo(s) against your Profile album. The image must be either a
jpg or gif format and can be a maximum of 2Mb in size; the actual photo will be resized for you as
part of the upload process. You may also define a Caption for the photo and this will appear with
the photo when displayed. The photo may also be flagged as Private or Public; if you flag it as Private
then this photo will only be visible to you (unless you specify it is your Profile Picture). You may
upload up to 10 photos into your Profile album (but you will also have a separate album for each
horse/pony that you hold on MyHorseDates).
This initially displays the current photos you have in your Profile album; as well as a thumbnail of each
photo, the caption is displayed as well. You may then select a photo to update (either by clicking on the
caption for the photo or the photo itself); this takes you to a further page to update the photo details.
You can Update the following for an individual photo:
- Caption
- Specify that this photo should be used for your Profile Picture
- Change the photo to be Public or Private
- Include up to 6 Tags against a photo (tags will be used in future for searching for photos)
You may also Delete the selected individual photo.
This displays a slide show (using the Previous and Next links) of the current photos you have
in your Profile album; as well as a large image of each photo, the caption is displayed along with all the tags
held against the photo. You may then select to Update Picture and this takes you to a further page to update
the photo details.
This area will display your standard Profile picture and information; the lower area of this page then
displays:
Any MyHorses/MyPonies that you have set up (these can be owned by you or someone else, they can also be
past as well as present) - see Add a MyHorse/MyPony.
You can then View or Update
the details held against this MyHorse/MyPony (see options below for the areas that are held and can be
updated). Within the View/Update options and the options described below the focus changes from having your
Profile details presented in the top area of the page to having the MyHorse/MyPony Profile details presented
for the relevant Horse or Pony.
There are a number of sub options within the MyHorses/MyPonies area as follows:
MyHorses/MyPonies - Add Horse/Pony
This area allows you to add a Horse/Pony details as follows:
Stable Name - this is the stable name used for this Horse/Pony.
Passport/Full Name - this is the passport or registered name used for this Horse/Pony.
Colour - this is selected from the drop down list presented; you may set this to 'Awaiting Classification'
initially and then use the link to 'Suggest a Colour' if your required colour is not on file.
Sex - this is selected from the drop down list presented.
Breed - this is selected from the drop down list presented; you may set this to 'Awaiting Classification'
initially and then use the link to 'Suggest a Breed' if your required breed is not on file.
Type - this is selected from the drop down list presented; you may set this to 'Awaiting Classification'
initially and then use the link to 'Suggest a Type' if your required type is not on file.
Height - this is the height of this Horse/Pony and may be specified in 'cms' or 'hh'.
Age - this is the age of this Horse/Pony.
Likes - this is a text area to define the Likes for your Horse/Pony (it may be used in future for
searching for a Horse/Pony).
Dislikes - this is a text area to define the Dislikes for your Horse/Pony (it may be used in future for
searching for a Horse/Pony).
History - this is a text area to define the History of your Horse/Pony (it may be used in future for
searching for a Horse/Pony).
Currently - this is a text area to define what your Horse/Pony is Currently doing.
Plans - this is a text area to define your Plans for your Horse/Pony.
Private or Public - this profile is normally Public; if you set it to Private then your Horse/Pony will
not be 'seen' by anyone unless you invite them to be your Friend etc.
Current or Past - this allows you to hold details of all your past Horses/Ponies as well as the current
ones.
The above areas will be extended in the future to include additional information that you can hold against
your Horse/Pony such as Passport Id, who you Purchased it from, when you purchased it, etc.
MyHorses/MyPonies - View Horse/Pony
This will display your selected Horse/Pony Profile picture for this horse/pony (along with the date it was
last updated) and you can use the link to Change Profile Picture; alongside this your main profile
information for this Horse/Pony is displayed as follows:
- Stable Name
- Full Name
- Height
- Age
- Colour
- Breed
- Type
- Public/Private
- Current/Past
The lower area of this page then displays the text you have against this Horse/Pony for:
- Likes
- Dislikes
- History
- Currently
- Plans
MyHorses/MyPonies - Update Horse/Pony
This area allows you to update the relevant Horse/Pony details as follows:
Stable Name - this is the stable name used for this Horse/Pony.
Passport/Full Name - this is the passport or registered name used for this Horse/Pony.
Colour - this is updated from the drop down list presented; you may set this to 'Awaiting Classification'
initially and then use the link to 'Suggest a Colour' if your required colour is not on file.
Sex - this is updated from the drop down list presented.
Breed - this is updated from the drop down list presented; you may set this to 'Awaiting Classification'
initially and then use the link to 'Suggest a Breed' if your required breed is not on file.
Type - this is updated from the drop down list presented; you may set this to 'Awaiting Classification'
initially and then use the link to 'Suggest a Type' if your required type is not on file.
Height - this is the height of this Horse/Pony and may be specified in 'cms' or 'hh'.
Age - this is the age of this Horse/Pony.
Likes - this is a text area to define the Likes for your Horse/Pony (it may be used in future for
searching for a Horse/Pony).
Dislikes - this is a text area to define the Dislikes for your Horse/Pony (it may be used in future for
searching for a Horse/Pony).

MyHorses/MyPonies - Upload Photo
This area allows you to upload a photo(s) against your album for this Horse/Pony. The image must be either a

MyHorses/MyPonies - Slide Show
This displays a slide show (using the Previous and Next links) of the current photos you have

MyHorses/MyPonies - Link Contacts
This option allows you to link any Contacts (that you have set up against your profile) to a specific
Horse/Pony, for example you can link the contact details for a specific Vet or Farrier (or even an Owner) to
the relevant Horse/Pony. Within this option you can View any Linked Contact details and Add or Modify notes
against this contact record.
MyHorses/MyPonies - Feed Chart
This option allows you to manage Feed Charts for a specific Horse/Pony; initially you can Add a Feed Chart,
which allows you to specify the Feed Chart details, such as Feed Times (e.g. morning etc.), Feed Components
(i.e. the specific feed and quantity e.g. Scoop of Beet), and Feed Notes, Feed Likes/Dislikes along with
Allergies information. Once the Feed Chart has been added you can select any Feed Chart from the drop down
list and use the following options:
Change - update/modify any of the details held against this Feed Chart.
View and Print - view the details of an existing Feed Chart and print the Feed Chart.
Copy - make a copy of this Feed Chart and then modify it or make a copy of this Feed Chart and use
this as a basis for a Feed Chart for another Horse/Pony.
MyHorses/MyPonies - Work Routine
This option allows you to manage Work Routines for a specific Horse/Pony; initially you can Add a Work Routine,
which allows you to specify the Work Routine details for each day of the week, such as Type of Work
(e.g. Flatwork etc.), a Plan for the Work Session (e.g. 10 minutes of flatwork to warm up etc.), Pre-Work Notes
(e.g. tack required, bit to be used, etc.) Post-Work Notes (e.g. aspects to change for next time, things to work
on etc.).Once the Work Routine has been added you can select any Work Routine from the drop down
list and use the following options:
Change - update/modify any of the details held against this Work Routine.
View and Print - view the details of an existing Work Routine and print the Work Routine.
Copy - make a copy of this Work Routine and then modify it or make a copy of this Work Routine and use
this as a basis for a Work Routine for another Horse/Pony.
This option allows you record details of results against a specific Horse/Pony, the following details can be
recorded (using the Add a Result option):
- Show Date
- Name of Show
- Venue
- Result (selected from a drop down list - you can also 'Suggest a Result')
- Notes (for example regarding a specific judge, class etc.)
- Private or Public (if you set it to Private then this Result will not be 'seen' by anyone)
You can also Update an existing Result or Delete an existing Result
This area will display your standard Profile picture and information; the lower area of this page then
displays:
Any MyFriends you have accepted or been accepted by; you may then send your Friend a Message and
you can also View a friend's profile.
Any MyFriends Invites you may have set where someone on MyHorseDates has invited you to be their
friend. You can Accept or Reject this invite; you can also View this potential friend's profile before
accepting or rejecting this Invite. You may also Block this user from being your friend and this will
prevent any further invites from this user.
Any MyFriends Messages you may have received from your friend(s). You can Delete, Save or Reply to

There are a number of sub options within the MyFriends area as follows:
This area allows you to Find Friends that are not currently linked against your profile:
Name or Partial Name - this is the Friend's Name (or part of the friend's name) that you are
searching for; this can be left blank and all names will be searched.
Area - this is the Area that the friend is in (e.g. Suffolk or East Midlands) and this is selected
from the drop down list; this can be left set to All Areas for the search.
Favourite Discipline - this is the favourite discipline of the frined(s) that you are searching for
(e.g. Dressage) and this is selected from the drop down list; this can be left set to All Disciplines for the search.
Once the Search button is clicked a list of all matching possible friends is produced in a list and you
may then Post an Invite to this potential friend or Send Message with this Invite; you may also View Profile details of this friend first, before sending them an invite to be your friend.
MyFriends - Email Friend Invite
This area allows you to email an invite to a Friend (who is not currently a MyHorseDates user) to join
MyHorseDates; the email contains a link that your friend can click on and go straight to the Register
page:
Email Address - this is an email address for your Friend and can be used to send an email from
MyHorseDates.
Personal Message - this is a personal message that you send along with the invite to the email address
specified above.
This area will display your standard Profile picture and information, along with a drop down list of any
MyContacts you may have Added yourself and/or Shared from your Friends and/or Imported
from Public Contacts. You may then select the required Contact and the required Action for this
Contact:
Modify - this enables you to change any of the details for this Contact as held by you; if it is a
Copied Contact (i.e. shared or imported) then the original details will not change.
View - this displays the Contact details along with any Notes you have made against this Contact. It
also enables you to email the Contact or access their website if they have one.
Add Notes - this enables you to add Notes against this Contact (for example if this contact is a Feed
Merchant you may want to hold details of any particular opening times etc. for future reference).
Share - this enables you to share these details with a Friend. You have the option to select a Friend
(from a drop down list of all your Friends) and add an optional personal message with this Shared Contact.
If the person you want to share the Contact with is not on MyHorseDates (then why not!) then you can send
the details for this Contact to an Email address.
There are a number of sub options within the MyContacts area as follows:
This area allows you to add a Contact's details against your profile:
Name - this is the Contact Name that you want to appear throughout MyHorseDates.
Type of Contact - this is selected from the drop down list presented and is used for searching
for Contacts and defining where else they may be used in MyHorseDates; you may also use the link to
'Suggest a Contact Type'.
Company - this is used if the Contact is part of a Company and you want to record the Company name.
Address - this is the address details for this Contact.
Post Code - UK only; this may be used for applicability of various aspects of MyHorseDates.
County - UK only; this is selected from the drop down list presented.
Telephone - this is used for the main telephone number for this Contact.
Mobile - this is used for the mobile number for this Contact.
Email Address - this is an email address for this Contact and can be used to send an email from
MyHorseDates.
Website - this is a website address for this Contact and can be used to access their website from
MyHorseDates.
Private or Public - if you set it to Private then these Contact details will not be 'seen' by anyone
unless you Share them with a Friend.
Notes - this enables you to add Notes against this Contact (for example if this contact is a Feed
Merchant you may want to hold details of any particular opening times etc. for future reference).
This area allows you to search for Contacts using the following search criteria:
Name or Partial Name - this is the Contact Name (or part of the contact's name) that you are
searching for; this can be left blank and all names will be searched.
Area - this is the Area that the contact is in (e.g. Suffolk or East Midlands) and this is selected
from the drop down list; this can be left set to All Areas for the search.
Contact Type - this is the type of contact you are searching for (e.g. Vet or Farrier) and this is
selected from the drop down list; this can be left set to All Contact Types for the search.

select the required Contact. You may then Add this contact to your Contacts and a copy is held against your
Profile; you may also View the contact details first, before adding them to your contacts.
MyContacts - Use Public Contacts
This area allows you to use any Contacts that have been defined by other MyHorseDates users as Public.
The complete list of public contacts is displayed in a drop down list and you may select the required Contact.
You may then Add this contact to your Contacts and a copy is held against your
Profile; you may also View the contact details first, before adding them to your contacts.
This area will display your standard Profile picture and information, along with any MyTackroom Reminders
you may have set and/or that have a current Action Date set against it.
You may then Delete this reminder or Modify it (both the text and/or the Action Date).
There are a number of sub options within the MyTackroom area as follows:
This allows you to add a new Tackroom Reminder message or amend an existing one; each reminder contains
a message and an Action Date. The Action Date determines when it will be displayed (i.e. it will not be
displayed before the Action Date); if there is no Action Date then it is displayed until you Delete it.
These Reminders are also displayed on your MyProfile page.
This displays up to 10 current messages that Friends have written on your Tackroom Wall. For each one you
can Delete the message or Write on their Tackroom Wall; you can also View this friend's profile. The
More link will display all messages currently on your Tackroom Wall.
Forgotten your UserName/Password
This presents you with a form that enables you to submit your Date of Birth and the Email that
you used when you registered for MyHorseDates and your UserName/Password will be delivered to you by email.
This presents you with a form that enables you to submit a Suggestion for the area that you have
specified (e.g. Suggest a Discipline). These suggestions are then moderated by MyHorseDates and if valid
will be added to the appropriate area.
This presents you with a form that enables you to submit Feedback for the area that you have
specified (e.g. Report Abuse). This feedback is then considered by MyHorseDates and if valid will be
actioned accordingly.
ADVERTISER AREA:
During 2009 this area will be opened up to Advertisers, if you would like ro receive details
of the Advertising options that will be available
then please complete the FeedBack Form
This advertising area will be focused to the Equestrian Community where possible and will
include multiple options to allow all sizes of company/advertiser to take advantage of MyHorseDates.
